Everything used to work fine until about an update a week ago. I used to just be able to watch all my videos just fine on whatever cell or WiFi I wanted. But NOW, it’s completely messed up. I have pretty fast internet (on my Xbox I can get to 100mb/s download speed) but YouTube is so broken that if I try to use my WiFi, it doesn’t work. Every refresh works fine, all the ads load fine, everything else loads super fast… but the video gets 5 seconds in and then buffers and never stops buffering. If I want my YouTube to work at all, I need to use my cell service (being about 2 bars LTE) and only then the video will load past 5 seconds, and even then sometimes it doesn’t! Fix this please

You need a sign in and sign out button on the youtube app. I don’t like how you can just click on the picture then sign back in. Which means anyone can go on your YouTube channel and delete your stuff. Please fix this

Both YouTube and YouTube kids has not been working since late March. I have noticed this on apple products I am the only android user and even though it’s not 100%, the apple products the rest of the family uses will not play! There was update for the kids a few days ago but still the same issue. On a few websites for outages there were complaints of the same issue and about 80 reports. Please get this fixed.

Would love YouTube even more if it would actually play a video instead if stopping 5 seconds in.

Currently, the videos won’t rotate with my phone so it’s not fun to watch anything right now. That’s a minor point but the big thing I needed to write about is the UI on the downloaded playlist (for those who have YouTube Red). The problem with this is that the main selection screen is the only place where you can turn shuffle on or off, and the repeat is at the top of the list while music is playing. This makes it difficult to turn on shuffle when you need to. Further, when hitting shuffle, the first song that is played is already selected for a certain amount of time. This means that when you press shuffle more than one time, the same song plays every time. Not much of a shuffle.

Not only is it frustrating to have my subscriptions not appear in my subscription feed because YouTube decided I no longer care for certain channels, but this is awful for the creators. YouTube seems to be doing everything in its power to screw over the most genuine creators on the channel. Most of the OG creators, especially animators, are completely shafted despite pouring more love and hard work into their craft than most. As a consumer, I’m also disgusted when I notice that I’ve been auto-subscribed to channels I have no interest in and that my “recommended” feed is full of cute animal videos because I watched a bat eat a banana once. Where are the channels that I’m more likely interested in? You know, like the educational stuff I more frequently watch? Having a YouTube account for at least five years now, I thought something was suspicious when I checked my subscription feed one day to see only five videos. Sure enough, I checked my favorite channels and they’d been uploading for days and I didn’t know. These problems become a bigger issue the bigger YouTube gets. What other company changes the foundation and structure of what they want without letting their employees know? What boss changes the rules of the job, only for their workers to get cut paychecks? It’s truly disgusting once you realize YouTube has not only done things like this, but that it’s still doing it. Regularly. I love what YouTube has provided, I love the creators that I’ve found o YouTube. But I’ve grown to truly despise the company.

Really.... 31 March I updated and cant watch with wifi at all. I dont know why?

Well I use this app a lot but when I watch something then get off my phone for an hour it’s gone and I have to find what I was watching again! And plus I have a YouTube channel and when I upload something my phone has to be on and on the app or else it gets an error it needs to be faster!

Ever since the most recent app update, videos will not load on any of our devices despite trying everything.

I used to like this app but a couple of days ago it wouldn’t open. So I’m thinking heck I’ll just not use it for a while then try it again. I finally tried to open it again today but it still won’t work. So I deleted the app and tried to reinstall it but now it won’t even install. It is very frustrating.

When I updated to the current version of the app I start watching a video and after 5 seconds the video buffers and starts to load and the video never fully loads. I know it’s not just my device, because the same thing happens for my brothers. Starts the video perfectly fine, then 5 seconds later the video stops and loads. It could be the new update not liking my WiFi, but I never had a problem until 5-6 days ago. Hope there is a new update soon

The max resolution now for majority of videos is 1080p. Look into this.

The app is great except for a few things. Chrome cast support has suffered on iOS, and lately when my phone sleeps I’m unable to control the playback volume or transport controls. Also annoying is the fact that on videos with no comments you’re unable to leave a new comment if you’re watching in a queue, as the bottom bar which indicates what place your current video is in the queue covers the comment text box. You’re unable to “hold” the scrolled description/comments section and simultaneously press is the box to type a comment, so this leaves (an admittedly very specific set of) users unable to make comments in this scenario. Probably low on your list of things to fix but it makes this app really awful to use regularly with chromecast.

Why can’t I watch videos anymore on this app? What is the sense of it? Anyone else having this problem? Didn’t Google learn anything this week from Facebook about sharing information? I don’t get it! Please fix.

I have opted out of any explicit material on my iphone, so the app disappears. I dont want me or my kids exposed to junk, so i would rather be without the app than change my settings. Will be checking out the kids version. Update: I like the kids version even less. Too much advertising and cant access things that are kid appropriate but not geared towards kids (my kids like science videos and that sort of stuff).
